Moral Relativism Reaches the White House

With Obama's June 2010 proclamation as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) month, moral relativism reached the White House. In this proclamation he called on the US "to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity" -- a position which Obama says will "advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded." The principles of moral relativism?

Moral relativism can be compared to an abysmal swamp with no bedrock. It can be compared to construction without reference to a plumb line -- or navigation without compass or stars. Every moral choice becomes equally as acceptable as every other moral choice.

Does Obama realize there are many other sexual choices besides LGBT? Pedophilia and necrophilia, for example, are sexual orientations. Once there is no standard for moral choices, one sexual orientation must be accepted equally with every other sexual orientation.

Further he supports "civil unions and Federal rights of LGBT couples" -- a position squarely in opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act passed by an overwhelming majority in Congress and signed by President Clinton in 1996 -- defining marriage as a "legal union between one man and one woman."

Apparently Obama considers himself to be above the DOM Act -- prescribing an amoral society -- clearly removing our founding Judeo-Christian principles.

Our shining city on a hill is being darkened by a moral relativism promoted by our current president who is determined to drastically change America -- including its historic moral standards.

Most Americans do not support his idea of change.
